Charles Clough’s
Westerly
        Art
Project
Charles Clough’s Westerly Art Project is a new way to make paintings which takes place in Westerly, Rhode Island. It is distinguished by the participation of others in the creation of the painting and the casting of Clough as the "un-painter". Individuals and small groups paint on a single prepared board of 33 x 44 inches. After each session the complete painting is photographed along with as many well-composed, cropped, details that the painting offers. Clough then selectively grinds and polishes the painting to prepare it for the next session. This step also is extensively photographed such that at the conclusion of the painting over a thousand images are produced for a print portfolio. Here are books that document the WesterlyArtProjectSummer2008.pdf and WesterlyArtProjectFall2008.pdf.

Participation is encouraged for the Winter 2009 Painting. Prints of your completed painting and you or your group, and when the season’s painting is completed, the book, will be available. Sessions may be scheduled for Wednesday and Friday evenings and anytime on Sunday through mid-March are available. Call  401-596-0208 or email: charlie@clufff.com
